To celebrate their 15th anniversary, the storied Sacred Bones Records will release Todo Muere SBXV, an 11-track album on which artists from the label cover one another’s songs. The transcendent Marissa Nadler has chosen godhead David Lynch’s “Cold Wind Blowin'”, and you can hear her spare and chilling version above. The collection arrives on May 27th, and you can find pre-ordering links for it right here.
Recently Marissa Nadler released her exquisite ninth LP The Path of the Clouds. Today she’s unveiled the expressionistic, Eden Tijerina-directed video for its “Lemon Queen” — a considered study in narcotic, elusive nostalgia — which stars Jessica Relinda Maas Venuat. Out on Sacred Bones Records, you can buy cassette, CD and assorted colored-vinyl versions of that album now both from their webstore and from Bandcamp.
“If I Could Breathe Underwater” is gossamer in diffuse golden light and the rippling, romantic latest single from Marissa Nadler. You’ll find it on her The Path of the Clouds LP, which is released on October 29th. A variety of pre-ordering options are available at this link, and it’s over at Bandcamp, too.
As long as there has been The Autumn Roses, there too has been ghostly, glorious new music from Marissa Nadler — an artist who represents the best of what we highlight. She’s just announced the release of her new LP The Path of The Clouds, so do preview its soft, sumptuous first single “Bessie, Did You Make It?”. Out from October 29th, British fans can pre-order opaque-white-vinyl, silver-and-white-vinyl, CD and digital versions from Bella Union, and in America it’s available from Sacred Bones. Bandcamp is an option, too.
Organized by Francis Lung, Everybody Cares was an online fundraiser that supported the LGBTQ+ charities AKT, The Audre Lorde Project and GIRES. Just today its accompanying compilation was released, and you can hear the incomparable Marissa Nadler’s hymnal take on “Pitseleh” above. The whole thing is available on Bandcamp.
