A massive, melodic and sugary swell, “Ferry” is the genuine and gentle-hearted new single from Chicago’s Moontype. You can find it right now on their Bandcamp page, while the debut album from which it’s taken will be released next year.
Parisian musician Emma Broughton, a.k.a. Blumi, will be releasing her debut-solo EP I know about you in the Spring, and from it you can hear its “Blumi the darkness” — a hushed and tender revelation — above. The track is up on her Bandcamp page now. Via Les inRocks.
We know their names: Zappa, Beefheart, Barrett. Why not learn hers? “The Marionettes” dances deeply in a world dreamed in detailed creativity and it’s taken from Petunia-Liebling MacPumpkin’s I Left My Heart In Uncanny Valley. Wonderful, you can buy it now from her Bandcamp page.

The song is spectacular, its history deep, the cause important. Written by foundational Armenian composer and musicologist Komitas, “Krunk” is a memory that takes flight, and this version by Zola Jesus rings with a longing understood, but just beyond reach. You can buy it from Bandcamp, and she will donate proceeds from it to The Armenia Fund, who in turn will provide humanitarian assistance to those in Artsakh who need it.
